Some beauty secrets are worth revealing. Your man probably won’t be as open as your girlfriends to giving and getting manicures, but you might be surprised at what he will do.
Kristina and Matt, who have lived together for 14 years, brush, floss, and use teeth-bleaching trays every night. “It gives us some quiet time together while we watch TV and chill before bed,” says Kristina.
Aliya, who spent a summer living with her boyfriend, Nathan, says, “I was using St. Ives Apricot Scrub in the shower, and he agreed to let me try it on his back. He loved it.”
Sometimes men help themselves. Patty was a bit baffled when a $50 bottle of Susan Ciminelli Cleansing Milk that usually lasts for six months was almost empty after just three weeks. “I asked my husband if he’d been using it, and he admitted that he’d been slathering it all over his face. I had to explain to him that it wasn’t Pond’s cold cream.”

This was a cute article. Whoever said that about the suburbs and two sinks was spot on. I live with my boyfriend and we’re lucky enough to have two full baths. Yay suburban life. We don’t really have to fight over bathroom stuff.

A lot of issues are made worse by tiny New York City apartments…the couples in the burbs can have two sinks and plenty of drawers. But New Yorkers do have access to many low-priced nail salons that also offer waxing at reasonable prices…and then the real solution on that score is electrolisis…just get it over with permanently.

Learning to adjust to your mates hygiene habits can always be tricky, but especially if there is a cultural clash. I’m African American and my boyfriend is from Mexico; the day he saw my hotcomb was the day “Natural Hair 101″ began. And “No baby, it doesn’t matter what brand of shampoo I use - I was born with curly hair…Yes dear, our children will be able to use a blow dryer just like the rest of the modern world.”
