Condom Fashion Show In Beijing

BEIJING (Reuters) - Condoms of all shapes and sizes were on display at a Beijing fashion show on Wednesday featuring dresses, hats and even lollipops made of the said item.

Models fought through extravagant soap bubble special effects to show off tight-fitting wedding gowns, scaly-looking evening dresses, outrageous bikinis and other garments made entirely of condoms, inflated or otherwise.

We know that the Chinese like to move quickly. They moved from an economy primarily dependent on agriculture to a smoke-belching industrialized nation in like 20 years. Today (July 11th) we ran a Dish on Chinese teen pregnancy going through the roof and being blamed on web use. Well, they’re certainly eager to nip that problemo in the bud. We’re not sure what else to say, except that we’re glad the Chinese are finally taking safe sex seriously (well, sort of– can you really take someone seriously if they’re wearing a dress made of inflated condoms?) And it’s about time. American and European sex tourists in Asia have had to worry about catching God-knows-what for too long.
