I think my very single status has allowed me to take crushes to the next level. I seriously get too extra with it these days. Normal women have normal crushes. They gaze at a cute cop for a few seconds too long; they might even wink at a model-like waiter or two. Hey – if you’re single, why not? The friskier, the better, I always say.
For a long while after I broke up with Andre, I avoided crushes at all costs. They were self-explanatory to me – I would just end up crushed. Even my gym boyfriend lost his shine because he just doesn’t pay me any mind. In order to spare my ego, I have created a list.
Top 5 Reasons My Gym Boyfriend Isn’t Into Me:
1. I look how people are supposed to look at the gym: Sweaty, frumpy and a little confused.
2. He thinks I’m underage and doesn’t want to get arrested (I have chubby baby cheeks that make me look young).
3. He is married or has a girlfriend.
4. He is gay.
5. He is really into fitness and thinks I work out wrong and it turns him horribly off.
So I think it’s over between him and I. It’s fine though, because Inappropriate Crush #2 unfolded last week and this one’s a hum-dinger (yes, I said it). As a music journalist, I cover events and interview artists on a regular basis and pride myself in keeping my professionalism even if I’m a fan. However, I came very, very close to the edge last week.

Crushes are way better than lovers, boyfriends, and husbands. No pressure just pleasure.

yeah i feel u on this one Raj i feel like i haven’t has a crush in so long…. i’ve almost forgotten how great it felt to have that secret crush on someone and make up all these innocent fantasies in ur mind like oh he said hi to me today first he muuuustt like me to, but then never having the courage to follow up and letting it just simply be replaced by the next victim haha. well i guess when we “grow up” everything loses its simplicity.. i’m glad ur trying to revive our inner adolescent!
