Jennifer Connelly and her husband Paul Bettany are known for their stunning turns on the red carpet.

They recently filled Usmagazine.com in on ways to get winning looks.

Her tip: “I avoid flimsy straps,” Connelly (in Balenciaga), 36, said last night at the Elle Women In Hollywood Tribute in Beverly Hills. “I’ve had a couple of incidents.”

Paul’s faux-pas? “Never wear cowboy boots. I think they’re inappropriate,” he said, joking, “they imply, ‘I’m hot in bed!’”

We were only marginally aware that Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly were together. If we didn’t know that Paul B was such a cool guy, we would suggest that he was ‘out-punting his coverage.’ That’s what the kids (football fans, anyhow) are saying about dudes that are out of their league. Anyway, we agree on the cowboy boots. It takes a certain kind of guy to wear boots. Not that anyone saw it, but Angelina Jolie proves that point in the Cusack-Jolie-Thornton film Pushing Tin. Yeah, hot… in bed.
