A.D.I.D.A.S. Lady Rules In The UK

We recently had a 12-year old cousin tell us that ADIDAS stood for ‘All Day I Dream About Sex.’ We weren’t sure to be more offended that a preteen was telling us about his sexual daydreams or that the shoe company’s marketing had already penetrated the deepest recesses of his prepubescent brain. So, we bumped into the results of a survey by Diva TV on the site Metro. Evidently, over ¼ of British women think about having an affair. Furthermore, 16% of the 1,100 surveyed daydream about a lesbian affair. And finally, 2% would contemplate nicking their best mate’s block if they fancied him (translation: steal their best friend’s boyfriend if they liked him).

What can we learn from this? First, we’ll assume that the sample is representative of the general population. Then we’ll use the old fallback statistic that 10% of the population is gay. So that means that 6% of British women are just curious, 25% are potentially unfaithful, and 2% are complete jerks. This sounds about right. We’re not sure if this is the Spice Girls ‘girl power’ influence but it looks like a dude in the UK is much more likely to get screwed by a woman than a woman is (final tally: 25 to 18, roughly). It works at least on two levels.
