Chace Crawford & Carrie Underwood Quit

According to FoxNews Celebrity Division, Chace Crawford and Carrie Underwood are over. The pair has been dating, somewhat on the DL, since the summer. They got a little more public during the fall right around the time that the Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson thing started warming up. As far as anyone knows, there is no ill will between the two. It’s just too imperfect of a world for a Gossip Girl star and an American Idol winner to make time for each other.

The country superstar circuit is not an easy life (to borrow from Steve Perry, “They say that the road ain’t no place to start a family”) but we thought if she could successfully make the transition from Idol winner to bona-fide star (yes, she’s got prospects) that she might have a few celebrity secrets figured out.

As for Nate Archibald’s actor, not great timing. We’re guessing that the worst way to defuse a gay rumor is to split with your actual, human girlfriend. Insecure high school dudes are masters of the bearded defense “How am I gay? Who’s your girlfriend?” or “You wish I was gay because you’re gay.” And we’ve thought that the same defense could always be used against the media/ haters. Evidently, a pair of good-looking, rich single guys living together is automatically suspect. It doesn’t help when one of them was involved in a thing called a ‘boy band’ and the other has manicured eyebrows and soft features. This is one of many reasons you will never see Zac Efron living with Joey Fatone. In summary, Chace and Carrie: not together; Chace and JC Chasez: roommates.
