Need to get something off your chest?

weight, overweight, myfatspouse.comTurns out, a lot of people do. Overweight people, people who are married to overweight people… A friend introduced me to the site (myfatspouse.com), and, at first glance, I was sure it would be thread after thread of average-weight husbands and wives complaining about their, well, fat spouses.

The tag line is “It is disrespectful to willingly become unattractive to your life partner.”

What it turned out to be is mildly addictive. In a fly-on-the-wall-of-the-therapist’s-office kind of way. Both sides of the coin are represented—big and being married to big—and they talk about everything. Everything.

The big question is, Is this wrong? Disrespectful? Honest? What do you think?

    I just wanted to take a moment to say that I see diversity all over the images on this site and I really wanted to express my appreciation for that. Yes, white women are beautiful and white men are very handsome, but it really helps women and men of colour like me to have a stronger sense of self when we see images of men and women that look like us in the media as well. And I see more and more media outlets like yourself showcasing this, and I wanted to let you guys know it doesn’t go unnoticed and it is appreciated.
