The Olympics may congregate competitors of 35 distinctive sports, but Love Buzz has found an online dating site that caters to an even greater variety of athletes.
Fitness-singles.com is a niche online dating site launched in August 2003 to help single fitness fanatics find each other–without letting their passion for flying trapeze or football, rope skipping or rollerblading, paint-balling or Pilates, get in the way.
It’s free to create a profile, which includes your top three (of 97) primary fitness activities, as common as jogging and as extreme as ultra-running. While there’s room to select additional activities in an extended profile, there is little room for modesty. Profiles include a section for appearance scaled from “Average” to “Stunning!” and a place for best feature, with a choice of 16 body parts and a “You decide” opt-out. While users can pick only one favorite feature, they can post up to 16 photos. That’s one for each favorite part. Phewf.
Profiles also include preferred diet, such as high-protein or low-carb, and activity frequency. The site doesn’t match members, and there’s no rule that you must match yourself only with other vegan paragliding bowlers who triathlon. (At the very least, activity preferences translate into flawless first dates.)
In fact, the less specific your search, the more profiles you’ll find. Search results include mini-profiles that contain photos, age and age preference, location, hours since last login and three primary fitness activities. The pages aren’t numbered so you won’t know how many profiles have been found until you get to the last.
