In fact, we want more of hipster couple Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, who do what so few celebrity couples have been able to: they’ve earned our respect, not only for their astoundingly good onscreen performances but also for the un-Hollywood life choices they’ve made (e.g., we don’t think we’ll be reading about their conversion to Scientology anytime soon). Their latest joint project is further proof of their edgy sensibilities: The couple costarred in High Falls (shown at Sundance this year), a short film about a husband and wife who each confess a secret to the same friend during a weekend in the country. Gigli, it’s not.

Nuptials Buzz: One tradition they want to uphold: a wedding. Engaged since last year, the couple is looking forward to having a real celebration. “We don’t want to just go to City Hall. I want the fairy tale,” Gyllenhaal, the new face of risqué lingerie line Agent Provocateur, explained. “I’ve had so many different incarnations of my fantasy wedding dress.” Hmm. Something old, something new, something corseted?
